Via Afrika Future (previously known as Future Entrepreneurs) decided to meet the needs of parents and learners by providing support in terms of homeschooling and matric repeaters. This component, called “Future School” has been in existence for the past three years and has shown good results, including a few distinctions in Mathematics and Physical Sciences.
Future School’s support is offered to two groups, namely the repeaters and the homeschoolers.
1. Repeaters
The matric exam can be passed in one of three ways: just a pass, or pass with admission to a diploma, or pass with admission to a degree. If you would like to increase your matric status, you can repeat subjects or take up to two new subjects in order to gain, for example, admission to a degree course.
Persons wishing to improve their marks can repeat any subject via Future School. They can just write the exam, or they can also repeat their matric portfolio for most subjects.
Persons who already matriculated, but who didn’t have Mathematics or Physical Sciences as a subject, can also complete their Grade 10 to 12 work in one year. Future School provides the study material and they also complete their matric exam through us. They furthermore have to do a complete matric portfolio through us.
Future School has been registered at the Department of Basic Education as an examination centre for repeaters.
2. Homeschoolers
Parents can order study material for Grade 1 to 9 via Future School, but we don’t provide any support.
We do offer study material and support for learners in Grade 10 to 12. They can complete their portfolios via Future School and we will mark these and arrange that they write the National Senior Certificate (NCS). Usually learners can only write this exam in Pretoria, whereas learners in Grade 10 and 11 write exams at home.
The centre is managed by Sarie Gloy and she can be contacted at Sarie.Gloy@viaafrika.com or
