NB Publishers

Our core activity is the publishing of books for the South African general market. We publish across all genres, mainly in Afrikaans and English.

Our titles range from popular novels to literary fiction, from romances to hard-hitting political exposés and biographies, from cookery, health and gardening to humour, to books for young adults, as well as illustrated and mass market children's books and dictionaries.

To a lesser extent, we also publish books in African languages, a sector of the market we hope to grow.

NB Publishers comprises four main imprints: Tafelberg, Human & Rousseau, Pharos and Kwela Books. Each imprint has its own independent editorial staff supported by joint marketing, administrative and financial divisions.

We are leaders in the publication of Afrikaans literature and are significant players in the South African book market.
